U9/U10 In-House Program

This program runs in the spring from late-March to early June and in the fall from mid-August to early November. U10 In-House allows players to continue their soccer journey in a developmental environment beyond U8. It is the first level within NASC in which teams practice two nights per week in addition to game play on Saturdays. Your child will be with the same team of 10 – 12 players for the entire season.

Practice sessions will incorporate skill development activities and small-sided games. Each session will be 60-75 minutes long. The field location and time schedule changes from season to season.  However, practices are held two weeknights per week with a start time between 5:30 and 6:30. Player practice requests for team placement will not be accommodated. For practices, the day of the week will not be determined until a week or two before the start of the season. Games are always on Saturdays, usually scheduled in the morning and early afternoon.

Games consist of two twenty-five minute halves and are officiated under PA West Youth Playing Rules. Players play 7v7 for the first time in this age group. Goalkeepers are also introduced at this level for the first time.  Players will earn similar amounts of playing time and be exposed to different positions. At U9/U10, coaches are encouraged to continue skill development but also to expose players to the tactics of playing as a larger team. Referee crews are used for the first time. No records or standings are maintained in the U9/U10 in-house program.

Volunteers Needed!

NASC is an entirely volunteer run organization. Volunteers include but are not limited to mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and older siblings. For each team, we need a minimum of 2 volunteer coaches to help with the practice and run the games. If you have ever considered coaching, now is a great time to start even if you have never played before! You can learn the game along with your child, and potentially continue as your child moves into older age groups. You’re going to be at the field anyway, so you might as well join in the fun! Look for the volunteer section as you register your child. Note that teams may be created without coaches if the number of volunteers does not match the number of registered players.
